A joint training session with Domotek Reggio Calabria provided Avimecc Modica with further valuable insights ahead of the season opener, which will see coach Enzo Distefano’s “Galletti” compete in the Blue Group of the Serie A3 championship.
The training session at the “PalaRizza” against the Reggio Calabria team, which returned the white-and-blues’ visit to the “PalaCalafiore” last Saturday, allowed the coaches of the two teams to rotate their rosters and offered interesting insights for the championship.
The final match saw the home team prevail 3-1 (25/19, 19/25, 31-29, 26-24), after a point-by-point battle that offered glimpses of high-level volleyball.
“We’ve drawn some ideas and built on what we did on Saturday in Reggio Calabria,” coach Enzo Distefano said at the end of practice. “We already knew the value of Domotek, which didn’t perform at its best at the PalaRizza, but we have to focus on ourselves. We worked well, especially in the break phase and on the serve, which is the first thing I asked of the team. The sideout phase was also good, starting with reception, where we were more compact, but this is work that needed to come out after weeks of preparation.
