A very young libero, also coming from Serie A2, is joining ErmGroup Altotevere, eager as ever to make its mark in the upcoming Serie A3 Credem Banca championship. His name is Leonardo Chiella (1.80 meters tall), a native of Grosseto, who will turn 19 in September and has played for Consar Ravenna for the past two seasons. The move to the white and blue team is a great opportunity for him: “I’m coming to improve, to have fun, and,” says Chiella, “to try to carve out a place for myself on a team where a very experienced player like Pochini is playing my position. A libero in volleyball is a bit like a goalkeeper in soccer: you mostly see mistakes, but I really enjoy it. Volley Altotevere will also be an excellent test for me, as it’s a very ambitious club with athletes from whom I have a lot to learn. Not only that, I’ll have to be away from home again, so it will also be a life experience.”
