Born in 2004, center Riccardo Alberghini will remain on the Reggio Emilia roster for next season.

Alberghini represents one of the most exciting young players in the Granata project. Having arrived in Reggio Emilia in the summer of 2024, the middle blocker has gradually carved out a place for himself within the team, growing both technically and personally. After experiencing relegation in his first season and contributing to the team’s swift return to Serie A2 last season, Riccardo is now preparing for a new challenge in the higher division.

His reappointment confirms Volley Tricolore’s desire to continue investing in young talent, nurturing athletes who have demonstrated dedication to the team and a strong commitment to daily work.

Three questions for Riccardo Alberghini

Riccardo, this will be your third consecutive year in Reggio Emilia. What does continuing this journey with Granata mean to you?

“After two seasons, Volley Tricolore is really starting to feel like home, and that makes me very happy. The trust the club has placed in me with this renewal gives me the opportunity to continue the journey I’ve undertaken here and return to wear the Granata jersey in Serie A2. It will be a great opportunity to grow further and, perhaps, play in this category with an increasingly important role within the team.”

What kind of championship do you expect from the 2026/2027 Serie A2?

“Serie A2 is a very high level, probably even more competitive than we faced last season. There will be well-equipped teams and many experienced players, but I’m convinced the club has built the right foundation to face this challenge. I have great confidence in the group, the staff, and the work that will be done during the season to achieve the best possible results.”

What are your personal goals for next year?

“On a personal level, I want to continue improving every day, trying to learn as much as possible from my teammates and all the more experienced players who will be part of the roster. The goal is to always be ready and, when the opportunity arises, to give my all to help the team and contribute to achieving our seasonal goals.”
