He’s becoming increasingly decisive, as evidenced by the numbers and especially his performances. Simone Marzolla, opposite striker for ErmGroup Altotevere for three consecutive seasons (despite his first season being interrupted in December, with surgery in March 2024 and subsequent recovery), has rediscovered his reputation as a “goal-scorer” and is preparing to make his decisive contribution in the Serie A3 Credem Banca playoff semifinals. Meanwhile, the two weeks of preparation are going well ahead of the match on Saturday, April 25th in San Giustino: “Relax, it’s true,” says the Veneto player, “even though from day one after Sarroch we started to look at Belluno and organize ourselves to prepare for this match. But there’s a great sense of calm in the atmosphere, and that’s what matters.” Because if there’s a team that can feel under pressure, it’s undoubtedly Belluno. “Our primary goal was to improve on last season, and we achieved that, so the club itself has reached its new all-time high. From now on, we’ll try to do more: we’ll chase the dream, practice after practice, and then we’ll see what comes of it. We’ll give it our all, playing an open game.” And perhaps by adopting a less predictable style of play, one that can at least try to disorient our opponents as they launch their counterattacks. “Certainly,” Marzolla clarified, “what we did in the three games we played against them, between the regular season and the Coppa Italia, didn’t work, so we need to reverse the trend and come up with something different in terms of our game plan. The strong performance in the first leg and the problems we suffered for much of the second leg helped us to be ready for any match.” Belluno coach Vincenzo Mastrangelo himself stated this in an interview: “We’ll be careful,” he said, “because now Altotevere has started playing well again, so let’s forget about the January matches.” Marzolla indirectly confirms: “We’re in a positive moment in our career, and in the playoffs, certain logics often prove false. I think—and hope—that this time, victory remains an unknown, and I’m confident it will be a very competitive match. While Belluno may feel a little more responsible due to being favored, Altotevere will take to the field with more desire to play, and then we must show our opponents that we’re not the same team we were in October, on Matchday 1, nor the same team we were in the January double-header.
