There’s bitterness over the team’s latest defeat (this time at home against the second-to-last team in the class), but also a few things that Marco Bartolini, head coach of this ErmGroup Altotevere team, has decided to get off his chest. He seems to have lost his way to victory and, even after taking charge of the match against Monge Gerbaudo Savigliano, couldn’t muster the strength to close out the game in his favor. “It’s not easy to talk after a defeat,” Bartolini begins, “especially when we went onto the court desperate for victory. However, we started very tense, and the first set in this game is very important. Nonetheless, we were up by four and were caught up until we lost by a narrow margin. Then we got back into the game, and when they pushed from nine meters in the fourth set, we unfortunately fell short, not doing what we had planned to do, namely directing our serve to certain points and specific players.
