The defeat in Cagliari, their fourth consecutive and sixth overall, still allowed ErmGroup Altotevere to maintain third place in the White Group standings of the Credem Banca Serie A3 championship. The point earned with the 2-3 victory in San Donà di Piave meant that Gabbiano Farmamed Mantova only managed to draw level with (and not surpass) the white-and-blues on 25 points, and ErmGroup retained third place by a matter of… hundredths of a second: the rules state that, in the event of a tie, the criteria to be considered is the number of victories (but in this case, Altotevere and Mantova each have eight) and then, secondly, the set quotient, which sees Biffi and his teammates lead with 1.53 compared to 1.43 for Virgiliano. With Conad Reggio Emilia on 39 points and Belluno (who have already rested) on 31, the ultimate goal for Marco Bartolini’s team is more than ever to achieve third place. From here, an interesting tug-of-war with the team coached by another Città di Castello native, Andrea Radici, is expected. Sarlux Sarroch and the rest, however, are currently at a safe distance, should not be overlooked.
