Another magical night, another feat to be etched in the memory. Domotek Volley never ceases to amaze and continues to write pages of history for Reggio Calabria’s sport. After their triumph in the Coppa Italia Del Monte, the Del Monte Supercoppa arrives, a trophy worth double because it certifies the exponential growth of a project that is making the city and beyond fall in love.
“Domotek is the queen of the Cup,” Team Manager Mirko Crucitti began, with a smile still plastered on his face. “Reggio Calabria is once again on the front pages of national sports newspapers,” he emphasized, “and that’s extremely pleasing. Now we await the evolution of this championship, but we’re ready to deliver more memorable and extraordinary moments.”
The Supercoppa final rekindled rivalries and recent memories. They faced, once again, the formidable Reggio Emilia, an opponent they had already faced in the Cup and in the promotion play-off. And once again, it was a tiebreaker.
“What kind of match was it? Absolutely: memorable scenes,” Crucitti recounts. “Another tiebreaker against Reggio Emilia, who had already given us a hard time in the Cup and in the five promotion playoff games. In the end, out of seven games, we won four. We more than proved ourselves to be a major force in this A3 championship at the national level.”
Compliments, says the team manager, are coming from everywhere: “From the League, from the Federation, from all over Italy for what we’re building. We’re happy, delighted. But at the same time, we’re extremely focused.”
