After Napoli’s direct relegation and Terni’s relegation to Serie B in the Serie A3 Credem Banca Playoffs, a third team is preparing to bid farewell to the Serie A3 Credem Banca. On Saturday, April 25th, at 6:00 PM, Stadium Mirandola and Sav Trebaseleghe will face off again in Emilia for Game 5 of the Playoffs.

The Emilian team came close to securing permanent safety several times, taking a 2-0 lead in the series, but the Veneto team showed heroics, closing the gap with a perfect away game. They then repeated the feat at home, rallying from two sets down in a tiebreaker in a match that was entirely point-for-point, winning in an epic finale to the fifth set. Sav’s first two wins in six matches against Stadium came at a critical moment. Mirandola is looking to re-establish the pre-match hierarchy and is banking heavily on striker Marco Spagnol, who scored 39 points in the final match (his best performance in Serie A3). Trebaseleghe dreams of completing an incredible comeback in the series, but must put in another display of character away from home. On one side, Piergiorgio Antonaci is nine points shy of 500 in Serie A3 and Andrea Galliani is 37 points shy of 4,000 for his career. On the other, Davide Cester is 19 points shy of 400 for the season, and Stanislaw Zbigniew Wawrzynczyk is 17 points shy of 1,000.

Playoff Status
Monge Gerbaudo Savigliano won the series 3-1 against Terni Volley Academy.
Stadium Mirandola and Sav Trebaseleghe are tied at 2-2.
