Eighty-five days later, Mantua remains a land of conquest: Belluno Volley, in fact, repeated its success from last January in the regular season, winning the first leg of the playoff quarterfinals. Let’s be clear, everything is still up for grabs. But the 3-1 victory at the “Marco Sguaitzer” sports hall represents a good omen for the return match, scheduled for Sunday, April 12th at the VHV Arena, where the Rhinos will only need to win two sets to secure their spot in the semifinals. The white-and-blue Easter egg contains no surprises, but rather confirmations. Starting with the solidity of the block (12 attacks returned to sender by the opponents): a fundamental masterfully interpreted by Basso, capable of producing five “poster” scores and finishing in double figures in terms of points. The high-ball attackers had a great night, worthy of applause: from top scorer Giannotti (23 with 2 aces) to Corrado (20), up to Loglisci (14): a prophet in his own country, having been born in the city of Gonzaga. The only flaw? The physical problem suffered in the final moments of the match by libero Hoffer, who had put in an impeccable performance in reception and defense.
