Bulgarian Stoil Palev will be the new setter of Essence Hotels for the 2026-27 season.
Born in Sofia in 2003, the new Virtus setter comes from Levski, where he played in the Bulgarian top division. Now, the doors to Italy have opened for him: “This is my first experience away from home,” Stoil begins. “Everything will be new to me. I’m sure it will be a positive experience and that I’ll adapt quickly, especially since I’ll be coming to a country where volleyball is not just a sport but also a culture. It’s an extraordinary opportunity, not only as a player but also as a person.”
A runner-up world champion with Blengini’s Bulgaria and a member of the national team for the upcoming Nations League, Palev boasts an impressive personal resume, having already earned several individual awards and accolades during his short volleyball career: “I’m truly happy and enthusiastic to come to Fano and be part of this club. From this experience, I expect to improve every day and learn from the coach and the team to become more mature, both on and off the court.”
The Essence Hotels director introduces himself as follows: “As a player, I’m very ambitious, tireless in my work, and always hungry to improve. Technically, I try to bring energy, aggression, and consistency to my game. I like to fight for every ball and help the team with a positive mindset and good spirit. Off the pitch, I’m a good and disciplined person. I always try to create a good atmosphere around me because I believe that strong team chemistry is essential for success.”
