Today marks the start of the week leading up to Game 2 of the Scudetto Playoff Quarterfinals, a series the Block Devils share with Vero Volley Monza, vying for a spot in the semifinals.
It’s been a busy week, unlike any we’ve seen in a long time after the intense months leading up to the start of the playoffs, with midweek rounds, Champions League matches, and the Supercup Final Four in Trieste. For this reason, we’re working to make the most of these days, preparing for the second leg of the series against coach Massimo Eccheli’s Brianza team. We’re back on the court next Sunday, March 15th, at the Opiquad Arena, with kick-off set for 5:00 PM.

The first focus is an analysis of Game 1, which was played in Perugia on Saturday evening. Polish spiker Kamil Semeniuk, who was the match’s MVP with 17 points, two aces, and a block, highlighted the team’s ability to immediately turn things around after losing the first set to their opponents: “We didn’t start well, we didn’t start well, but the important thing is that, after the first set, we showed our level, our game, and we maintained some concentration to do something more than enough to compete against Monza. It’s just the first step: you play for wins, so this is our first win. Now we have some time to wait for the second match. We’re going to Monza to play, first and foremost to show our level, but also to get our second win. Now we have to focus on our future, which is the playoffs and the Champions League. Now we’re focusing on the next matches.”
