Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza, after a marathon match against Modena in Game 1 of the Scudetto Playoffs, returns to work today with a weights session to prepare for the second leg of the CEV Volleyball Cup Quarterfinals, scheduled for Wednesday, March 11th at 7:30 PM at the PalabancaSport. Their opponent is Berlin Recycling Volleys, fresh from a 3-0 away victory (25-23, 26-24, 25-21) against Haching Munich on the final day of the Bundesliga season, consolidating their top spot in the standings with 68 points.

In the first leg played last Wednesday in Berlin, Gas Sas Bluenergy Piacenza won 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-18). In the return match, the red and whites will only need to win two sets to secure a spot in the semifinals of the CEV Volleyball Cup, the second-largest annual European club competition.

Dragan Travica (setter for Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza): “It’s definitely a very important match. In the first leg, we performed very well, imposing our game from the first rallies. They were missing a spiker, and they’ll be coming to Piacenza looking for a breakthrough. Now we need to shake off some of the sting from the Modena match and head into the CEV, a tournament we care deeply about and where we’re doing well. We want to advance to the next round so we can play in the European semifinals, which is a huge achievement. The stakes against Berlin are high, and we’re fired up.”
