Another new addition to the next Consar season comes from Brescia. Porto Robur Costa 2030 announces the signing of middle blocker Martin Berger. Born in Brunico on April 3, 2003, he grew up with Trentino Volley, the club he belongs to, and with whom he won a championship and a Champions League. Loaned to Serie A2, he played two full seasons, first in Macerata, where he scored 215 points with 62 blocks, placing him fourth in the rankings in this aspect, and then in Brescia. With the Leonessa, he totaled 253 points, with 53 blocks and 18 aces. “In Ravenna, I’m still aiming to improve, especially technically,” explains the new Ravenna native, “being able to continue working closely with a coach like Valentini, whom I’ve heard very highly of. I also have excellent news about the club, its organization, its professionalism, and the quality of the project it’s carrying forward. For me, Ravenna is a wonderful opportunity to grow and play another season at the top of A2.”
Both with Macerata and Brescia, Berger was a rival of Consar. And in those matches, I had confirmation of what I already knew: Ravenna is a city that exudes volleyball, has a great history, and has trained and launched many young players who have gone on to have and are now enjoying great careers. I think I’ve come to the right place to support the team’s ambitions and my own. I was fortunate to grow up in a place like Trento, which instilled in me certain values and instilled in me enthusiasm, motivation, and the habit of performing at a high level every day. And that’s what I’d like to bring to my new team, where I’m delighted to reunite with Cominetti, who was my teammate in the last championship.
