Yuasa Battery has chosen continuity as its future plans unfold. Following the confirmation of Massimiliano Ortenzi as coach, the Marche-based club has also confirmed the continuation of assistant coaches Mattia Minnoni and Roberto Romiti, figures who have guided the club’s extraordinary growth to its historic SuperLega title. This decision strengthens the project’s identity and allows the Grotte-based team to build on established strengths ahead of the upcoming Serie A2 championship, a long, balanced division with plenty of contenders. Experience, knowledge of the environment, and a long-standing relationship are the foundations on which Yuasa Battery intends to build its relaunch season.

For Mattia Minnoni, the confirmation represents, first and foremost, a sign of trust. “Having the respect of the club and the staff is always a pleasure, because it means something positive has been left behind. It’s a mutual satisfaction, and for that I thank Ortenzi and the entire management team,” says the assistant coach. Minnoni looks back on the last two seasons as a unique journey: “We’ve lived a true dream. They’ve been difficult but at the same time wonderful years, which have given us special moments and precious lessons. I think back to staying up in our Super League debut and the Dubai tournament final against Dynamo Moscow, and it almost seems like a science fiction novel.” An extraordinary journey that now gives way to a new phase. “An important chapter has closed and another begins. It will be a special season, also because after so many years, historic figures like Manu Marchiani and Riccardo Vecchi will be missing. However, there’s great excitement for an almost completely new group.”
The goal is clear: to return to prominence. “The team was built to have significant ambitions. Everyone will have to feel responsible for the path of a club that has made a huge leap in recent years and is fresh off its experience in the Super League. The newcomers will find an environment with a strong desire for redemption and an enthusiasm that needs to be rebuilt.”
