Domotek Volley makes history: chasing a treble. Polimeni: “Reggio Calabria is phenomenal, but our hearts ache for the fans; we’re forced to move.”
A historic moment for the entire Domotek Volley network. Domotek Volley continues to write indelible pages for Reggio sports. After winning the Del Monte Super Cup and the Del Monte Italian Cup in Serie A3, Coach Antonio Polimeni’s team has earned a spot in the championship final, where they will face Belluno Volley. Yet another display of strength from an entire city that, as the coach emphasized, filled every available space.
“It was beautiful, we can say that,” Coach Polimeni began. “It’s always a thrill, and we’re happy, on this May Day, to have been able to rejoice and celebrate with our fans. Let me say: I congratulate my players, who once again overcame every challenge. Reaching four out of four finals is truly incredible. They’ve proven to be phenomenal.”
The coach publicly praised the entire group, emphasizing the importance of each member of the squad, especially in the third set: “We had the opportunity to play all the players who had the least playing time. You saw the result: they were phenomenal. They’re worth the price of admission, not only in this division, but also on the team that finished first in the regular season, which won the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa. The credit goes to those who prepare for these weekends during the week.”
Today’s opponent, Acqui Terme, was described by the coach as “a team of absolute value.” But all eyes are already on the final against Belluno, a repeat of the Coppa Italia semifinal matchup in Veneto. “We’ve already played on their home turf,” Polimeni recalled. “They’re a tough team, second only to Conad Reggio Emilia. What kind of final do I expect? It would be truly amazing to be able to tick all three boxes of my seasonal objectives. As far as I’m concerned, they’ve never been dreams. The dream is to reach them, all the finals. It’s clear that finals are played to win, regardless of the caliber of the opponent. It will be a beautiful final, marked by prestige.”
