After this morning’s final practice, the first Italian men’s volleyball training camp for the 2026 season concluded. The training camp, held from May 11th to today at the “Giulio Onesti” Olympic Training Center in Acqua Acetosa, Rome, has begun. Coach Ferdinando De Giorgi began training ahead of the main summer fixtures with a group of 15 athletes, including our Alessandro Fanizza and Tommaso Guzzo.

Alessandro Fanizza: “It was a very intense week with a lot of work both in the gym and on the court. Seven demanding days from every perspective, with a particular focus on the technical aspect,” the setter emphasized. “Overall, a very positive experience: I tried to master everything, taking on the most important aspects that represent additional knowledge for my growth. I had a great time, in a great group; I consider it an important step for me and for my career.”

Tommaso Guzzo: “It was tough to tackle such an intense workout after a period of inactivity. But of course, wearing the blue jersey allows you to work hard and overcome any difficulty,” said the opposite player. “We did an excellent job, both on the pitch and in the gym, all-round. It was a wonderful experience; I couldn’t have asked for anything better.”
