Andrea Garrone is a new signing for Romeo Sorrento.

The young setter, born in 2004, joins coach Nicola Esposito’s team after two seasons at Acqui Terme, where he consistently scored nearly double figures.

After playing in Serie B in your native Piedmont and the last two seasons in Serie A3 with Acqui Terme, you’ve come south and signed with Sorrento. How did this choice come about?

After playing in Serie B in Piedmont for three years, I received the offer to wear the Acqui Terme jersey, where I experienced Serie A3 for the first time.
When I received the call from President Ruggiero, I was impressed by the professionalism and warmth of the club. So I didn’t hesitate to accept the offer, seeing a club that wants to do well in this league. I’ll have an excellent opportunity to improve, as the team is made up of experienced players.

In Acqui Terme, you carved out a niche for yourself, finishing both seasons close to double figures. What kind of setter are you, and what do you consider your strengths?

These two years in Acqui Terme, I carved out a niche for myself with sweat and effort, always trying to lend a hand to the team in difficult moments.
I’m a player who always aims to improve in every aspect; I really enjoy my role, as it entails a lot of responsibility on the court.
I believe I’m a setter who’s open to dialogue, ready to find the right understanding with my teammates.

After competing in the playoffs with teams from the southern group, what kind of championship do you expect this year?

I expect a tough group, with very well-equipped teams. Playing in the south is great, with arenas full of fans ready to cheer on their team.
I’m sure that with good practice, we’ll be able to hold our own in this championship.

You’ll experience the warmth of our Crustiffs and the enthusiasm of the entire arena. I invite you to follow the team again this year:

I can’t wait to meet our Crustiffs, who will support us and will undoubtedly give us a huge boost.
Over the past two years, I’ve had the opportunity to experience the support of the southern teams, and I’ve been very impressed, and it will be an honor to have the arena always ready to support the team.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the arena to cheer on Folgore; I’m sure we’ll have fun.
