The City of Piacenza welcomed the Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza team to the council chamber of its municipal headquarters today to celebrate their historic victory in the CEV Volleyball Cup, the first European trophy in the young but already prestigious history of President Elisabetta Curti’s club.
In attendance were Mayor Katia Tarasconi and Sports Councilor Mario Dadati, Pietro Boselli, Deputy General Manager of Banca di Piacenza, Roberto Gallizioli, President of Coldiretti, Prefect Patrizia Palmisani, and military authorities.
The official reception was a moment of great pride for the city, which paid tribute to the players, coaching staff, and management for a sporting success of international significance, bringing Piacenza’s name to the European stage and strengthening its sporting identity.
“This victory represents a historic milestone not only for the club, but for all of Piacenza,” said Mayor Katia Tarasconi. “We suffer and rejoice with you, along with the Lupi Biancorossi. Thank you, you raise the name of our city. The team has demonstrated talent, determination, and team spirit, becoming a positive example for the community and for the many young people who look to sport as a training ground for values.”
“You can be an example,” emphasized Prefect Patrizia Palmisani, “for many young people. Sport teaches values, but also the ability to bounce back from defeat. You should be proud to represent these values; continue to be an example.”
During the meeting, words of satisfaction also came from the club, represented by President Elisabetta Curti.
This trophy is the fruit of the daily work of athletes, staff, and a club that has always believed in the project. Sharing it today with the city and its fans makes it even more special. I thank all the sponsors and Mayor Katia Tarasconi, who has always supported us, both home and away.
