Trentino Itas produced a thrilling and spectacular match in the first leg of the Champions League Playoffs (the Round of 16), sweeping the PGE Project Warsaw arena, giving them a head start heading into the return match. At the BTS Arena in a week, Sbertoli and his teammates will need a win regardless of the scoreline to advance to the Quarterfinals.

Trento initially had the upper hand in the set count, with the first set ending 25-11. Warsaw came back, tying the set count twice, before the decisive tie-break saw Itas dominate and close the score at 15-8, thus celebrating the victory. Among the undisputed stars was Theo Faure (22 points), awarded MVP at the end of the match; Lavia, Ramon, and Flavio (13) also reached double figures. Warsaw scored 15 points for Tillie and Bednorz, while Weber finished with 22 total points.

This weekend, Trento will also begin its march in the Credem Banca Playoffs: the match for the Dolomites is set for 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 8th, when they will face Cucine Lube Civitanova in Game 1 of the Playoffs.
