Negrini CTE Acqui Terme has chosen to hand over the reins of control to a familiar face, especially among longtime fans. Luca Martinelli, who four years ago played for Scanzorosciate, will be the new setter in the 2026-27 season, defeating Scanzorosciate in the process.

The following year, the 1998-born setter from Negrar (VE) still had the opportunity to play in the third national division with Gabbiano Mantova, coached by Simone Serafini, who defeated the Acqui Terme team in both league games.

After two seasons in A2 with Campi Reali Cantù, the destinies of Luca Martinelli and Pallavolo La Bollente are now intertwined, this time on the same side.

“I’m absolutely ready. This is a decision I made right away. I had no doubts from the moment the opportunity presented itself,” Martinelli says. “There were a few factors that pushed me. The last season in Cantù definitely didn’t go well, so I needed to move down a division to get back into playing quality championships, or at least to fight for the top spots in the standings. Then, however, I was also encouraged by the fact that Simone Serafini was coaching, whom I had previously worked with in Mantua and with whom I had gotten along very well. I know Acqui is a club that always aims to have good championships; I’ve played against them, and they’ve always spoken highly of them, so I accepted with conviction. I remember the matches as opponents, all of them very competitive.”
