A young talent ready to make the leap: this is Alberto Massari, the new center back for Negrini CTE 2026-27. Born in 2007, he arrives in Acqui Terme after training in one of the most prestigious youth academy in Italy, the Allianz Diavoli Rosa, where he finished as runner-up in Italy last season.
The newly minted middle blocker from Acqui Terme describes his journey as follows:
“I started playing volleyball about eight years ago on my local team with some friends, mostly for fun. That was until three years ago, when my coach included me in the first team of the club, which was then playing in Serie D. During that year, I grew a lot, learning from the older teammates I surrounded myself with, and I tried to put what I learned into practice in the Under 17 and Under 19 championships with my peers. The following year, I joined the Diavoli Rosa, where I played in the Serie C and U19 Excellence championships. In the latter, we finished third in the regional championship and ranked among the top eight in Lombardy. Last season, again with the Diavoli, I participated in the Serie B championship and the U19 team, where we achieved great results, including second place in the regional championship, first place in the regional championship, and second place in the national championship.”
