Having returned to base after a long trip to Lombardy, Avimec Modica immediately turned the page and has been hard at work since this morning preparing for Game 2 of the first playoff round, which will see the Contea team face Gabbiano Farmamed Mantova on Sunday afternoon at the PalaRizza.

The first leg, won by the Mantua team in four sets, was interesting in parts, but the Modica team failed to express its volleyball prowess, paying the price for the result that Chillemi and his teammates are hoping to overturn in the return match.

“In the away game in Mantua,” explains coach Enzo Distefano, “our real regret was leaving the court unable to express our game, the one that distinguished us in the second half of the regular season and allowed us to finish well and deservedly in fourth place. We took a step back; perhaps if we had played the volleyball we played in the second half of the season, the result would probably have been different. Rediscovering our game is what we intend to do in Game 2 next Sunday.”

Reviewing the match at the “PalaSguaitzer” with a cool head, the Avimec Modica coach explains what he thinks didn’t go as expected and what he expected.
