Following the confirmation of head coach Giampaolo Medei, A.S. Volley Lube announces the contract renewal of Francesco Oleni for the upcoming competitive season. At Cucine Lube Civitanova, the volleyball globetrotter has found the ideal environment to put down roots. With extensive experience as an assistant coach and data analyst in China, Russia, and Korea, as well as the SuperLega (Monza) and Serie A2 (Sora), and having previously contributed to national teams such as China and Denmark, the Roman coach immediately made a name for himself in his first year in Civitanova.

Oleni quickly developed a strong bond with Giampaolo Medei’s staff, working closely with assistant coaches Enrico Massacesi and Matteo Zamponi, along with coach Massimo Merazzi and scout Alessandro Zarroli. A synergy that allowed Lube to reach their second consecutive Scudetto final, the eleventh in the club’s history, and the eighth in the last nine playoffs.

Francesco Oleni (assistant coach, Cucine Lube Civitanova):

“My renewal came about simply and naturally; I couldn’t even pinpoint the moment it was decided by both parties. I saw it as a formality at a club that welcomed me very well and where, after an introductory period, it was possible to coordinate and refine our working methods. During the year, I never considered alternatives for the future, as I had in the past; here, I found an ideal environment. The season has just ended, but we’re already working to improve. After this first year, my assessment is positive. I’m not just referring to the Scudetto final and Champions League qualification; my assessment is based on our journey and our growth. Overcoming difficult phases together without losing our bearings and finishing with a more confident attitude is the result of teamwork.” I’m now at home in Civitanova. Despite my workaholic nature, I’ve decided to enjoy my time outside the arena. I’ve been revitalized by strolling around the city, enjoying the waterfront, the library, and discovering the warmth of the people of the Marche.
