The delay in the competent authorities identifying the timeline and procedures for making the Palamazzola sports hall available to Prisma Volley after the Mediterranean Games—the timing and procedures are still unknown—has prevented our club from planning its participation in the 2026/2027 Serie A2 Men’s Volleyball Championship within the timeframe and with the technical and organizational content appropriate and consistent with the importance of the aforementioned championship and the expectations of the club and volleyball fans in our area.

Therefore, at the end of thirty years dedicated to sport and the civic and moral values it represents for a community like ours, we have calmly decided that the time has come to end our Serie A journey, with the hope that new initiatives will bring Taranto and its province to high-level championships.

The undertaking is arduous and demanding, but we are confident that with a more far-sighted vision, one that is more in tune with the socio-economic and cultural reality—which has long been experiencing great difficulty in our region—the institutions will be able to capitalize on our experience to promote new opportunities.

Prisma Volley will continue its sporting activities for young people by promoting youth sports initiatives, aiming to demonstrate socially positive educational paths through sport and its values.

In light of this, today we have communicated to the Italian Men’s Volleyball League our withdrawal from participation in the 2026/2027 men’s A2 championship.

A heartfelt thank you to all our managers, collaborators, and medical staff who, over these decades of sporting activity, have shared daily battles and commitments with us with dedication and professionalism.

Greetings to the Zio’s Boys and to all the fans and enthusiasts who have supported our team and our athletes and coaches. A big thank you to all the sponsoring companies who have shared our sports project with love and dedication.

Ad maiora.
