The Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza Under-15 team is among the top sixteen teams in Italy.
Playing in Puglia at the Men’s National Youth Finals, the red and white team won Group D of the qualification round and secured a spot in the final round, which begins tomorrow, Thursday, May 28th. The final round will feature the top four teams from the qualifying rounds and the 12 teams that have already qualified after winning the regional title.
After beating ASD Murate 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-16) and SSV Bozen 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-12) on Tuesday, the young red and whites defeated Leporano Volley 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-11) this morning in a no-contest match, earning the right to advance to the final round with three wins, nine sets won and no losses.
The young red and whites, coached by Marco Lenzi and Matteo Antonucci, continue their run: now placed in Group F with Volley Treviso, first in Veneto, Volley Parella Torino, first in Piedmont Valle d’Aosta, and Roomy Giunic, first in Sicily, they will begin their journey in the second round of the tournament tomorrow, Thursday, May 28, at 4:00 PM with Volley Treviso, playing at the Don Tonino Bello Municipal Gym in Alessano, in the province of Lecce.
On Friday, May 29th, at 11:00 a.m., Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza will face Volley Parella Torino, and on the same Friday at 4:00 p.m., they will face Roomy Giunic.
The 16 finalist teams are divided into four groups. The top two teams from each group advance to the quarterfinals, which will be played on Saturday, May 30th. The semifinals are also scheduled for Saturday, while the final is scheduled for Sunday, May 31st. The third- and fourth-place teams from each group will play the semifinals and finals for 9th-16th place on Saturday.
