The Playoffs begin: Trento takes on Projekt Warszawa
The curtain rises tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4th, on the Playoffs (effectively the Round of 16) of the CEV Champions League. Trentino Itas will play at the Tower Hall in Warsaw against PGE Projekt Warszawa, kicking off at 8:30 PM and broadcast live on Sky Sport and DAZN.
Trentino Itas enters the match after finishing second in Pool A of the Group Phase, while the Poles qualified as the best third-place team from the Pool Phase.
Tomorrow’s match will open a clash that will be decided over two legs: the team that prevails in the two-legged tie will advance to the Quarterfinals, with the return match scheduled for the BTS Arena in Trento on March 11th. The team that advances from this round will face Polish champions Lublin in the next phase.
A match that promises to be a high-level one: Project Warsaw, a team in the same pool as Cucine Lube Civitanova (and against whom the team has won on both occasions), features some old acquaintances from the Italian championship: from Kevin Tillie (who spent time in Modena, Cisterna, and Ravenna) to Bartosz Bednorz (two years in Modena), as well as former Ravenna player Brandon Koppers and Linus Weber (experiences in Padua and Milan).
The Dolomitic team enters the European match after losing in the Del Monte® Supercoppa semifinal: the match against Ankara represents the perfect opportunity to relaunch their form.
