Domotek Volley Reggio Calabria’s run continues unabated. Yet another win of the season is the work of a team that refuses to give up dreaming, yet remains grounded. Speaking after the win against Lecce, which secured first place in the standings and qualification for the A2 finals, was middle blocker Luca Presta, an experienced Calabrian, and a cornerstone of this team. He analyzed the match and set his sights on the playoffs.

“We had to win, it wasn’t easy at all,” Presta began, aware of the value of the recent victory. His analysis began long ago: “Well, the important thing for us was definitely winning. Winning all the return matches isn’t a given. We only lost two games in the entire regular season and we always scored, so we had to do our part. Castellana and Gioia certainly gave each other a hard time, but we focused on our game.”

A win that secures first place in the standings, an important milestone, but one that, in the middle blocker’s words, doesn’t represent a point of arrival. The team’s mind is already focused on the future and what’s to come. One of the key factors in this triumphant season is undoubtedly the support of the crowd. The PalaCalafiore has once again become a determining factor. “And alongside all this, there’s a scenario that finally has an even greater impact, a crazy crowd. But the crowd is definitely an added bonus. I see a lot of people here; I see that sport is becoming something important again for people. This, in my opinion, was our primary goal. Winning certainly brings good luck, it brings enthusiasm, but we’re focusing on our path, on what we’re doing, and we must continue like this,” the middle blocker stated.

On a personal level, Presta is having a top-level season, perfectly in tune with the team’s growth. My thought is that we, having a difficult role, that of center, where many things are not seen only by experienced people who understand it, the positive touches at the block, the attacks in important moments… This is right, now we are all growing, it is a credit to the whole team”.
