Aurispa DVF Lecce will face Sarlux Sarroch in the playoff round of 16. The Apulian team, coached by Giuseppe Ambrosio, finished the regular season in fifth place and, before their defeat in the final round against Domotek Reggio Calabria, had been on a three-game winning streak, with a total of ten wins and eight losses.
Gialloblu coach Denora Caporusso looks ahead to the upcoming match:
“The matches we’ve been preparing for since August are coming up, and the feeling is great. Lecce is a team with experienced and talented players, very combative, especially at home, encouraged by their fans. We have to play our volleyball, regardless of the opponent. It will be important to break the ice in the first points with the right enthusiasm. The playoffs are played with technique, but also with emotion; they are different from league matches. One thing I will ask the boys to do is enjoy these matches and these moments. If we can do that, it will be easier to face these matches.”
There is no previous matchup between the two teams, but several former Lecce players are now wearing the Gialloblu jersey: Agrusti, Capelli, Matani, Stabrawa, Giaffreda, Iannaccone, and coach Denora Caporusso himself.
