Another page in history for Domotek Volley, who secured first place in the Serie A3 Credem group and is preparing for the promotion final against Reggio Emilia, a best-of-five match that begins on Saturday, March 21st at 8:30 pm in Emilia. Post-match, Enrico Zappoli, the Brazilian spiker, a symbol of this group and the poster child for an unforgettable evening at PalaCalafiore, spoke.

Zappoli is still breathless from the atmosphere at PalaCalafiore: “This crowd today reminded me of last year’s playoffs against Aqui Terme. It reminded me of exactly that. These people are amazing. And now that we’ve reached the second milestone, we want to see even more people in here, honestly.”

The Amaranto fans’ enthusiasm was the seventh man on the pitch in a tough match against Lecce: “First place was deserved, we can say that. Kudos to Castellana Grotte, they never gave up in the race for the top spot against us, we fought hard for it in every way. They deserved it too, honestly. When two teams finish first, it would have been fair for both of them because we both fought until the end.”

Now, focus is on the promotion final against Reggio Emilia, already their opponent in the Coppa Italia Del Monte final won by Domotek. Zappoli knows it’s going to be a different story: “It’s going to be tough. It’s a best-of-five game. We know we won the Coppa Italia against them, but unfortunately that doesn’t matter anymore; we’re starting from scratch. This Coppa Italia victory might give them a little more energy, so to speak. Because losing a Cup like that can only motivate them. They’ll probably enter the first game of the final with the desire to win against us. We have to be good at staying calm, patient, and taking hits and counterattacking, because that’s what it’s going to be like.”

A dynamic reminiscent of what happened in the championship finale against Lecce: “We went down in the first set, it was tough. We didn’t have a good first set at all; towards the end of the season, we always had good first sets. It was the opposite, maybe because we were too fired up, I don’t know. But then, little by little, we managed to do something good. I think mostly at the block; today we did a great job.”
