The Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza Under 15 team finished with a respectable eleventh place in the National Youth Men’s Finals, which saw 28 teams participate and will conclude tomorrow in Puglia.
The red and white team defeated the Calabrian team Cuccioli Multiservice Catania 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 26-24) in the 11th-12th place final, finishing their national adventure with an eleventh-place finish.
In the morning, the young red and whites were defeated 3-2 (25-13, 21-25, 21-25, 26-24, 15-10) by Fenice Roma Pallavolo and had to settle for playing the 11th-12th place final in the afternoon instead of the 9th-10th place final.
The experience in Puglia was positive, with the red and whites having enjoyed solid victories but only losing in the tie-break. The adventure in Puglia for the Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza Under 15 team, coached by Marco Lenzi and Matteo Antonucci, began with a victory in Group D thanks to three 3-0 wins in three games played. This resulted in a third-place finish in Group F of the final phase, just one point shy of second place (two tie-break losses and one complete victory), which would have guaranteed a spot among the top eight teams in Italy.
Twenty-eight teams advanced to the national final: the twelve regional title winners began their journey in the Final Phase group, while the other 16 began their journey in the qualifying rounds. Only four, including the red and white team, advanced to the final phase.
