Pallavolo La Bollente has strengthened its roster for the 2026-27 season with a promising new addition to the setter department: Gabriele Spina.

Born in 2008, despite his young age, Spina already boasts a high-profile career, including four seasons in Serie B, a third-place finish in the Junior League, and a world title with the U17 national team.

His volleyball career began in Grosseto, his hometown, before continuing with Cucine Lube Civitanova (2023-24 season) and Modena Volley in the last two seasons. The young setter has now arrived in Acqui Terme, ready to test himself in Serie A3.

“I’m incredibly ready, I can’t wait to get started after finishing last season so well,” says Gabriele Spina. “I’m thrilled to be competing in the big leagues. For the first time, I’ll be competing in Serie A3 with teammates who bring a wealth of experience.”

The season just ended was overall positive: “On a personal level, it was definitely a very formative year because I was a fairly stable part of the team, and it definitely allowed me to gain experience, because in the end, the Serie B championship is always a tough one.” Regarding the results, despite some disappointment, the athlete emphasizes the group’s tenacity: “In terms of results, let’s say, things didn’t go quite as we’d hoped. Fortunately, we managed to finish the year with third place in the Junior League, even coming close to the final, so let’s say the results boosted our morale, although on a personal level, I still consider it a fairly formative season, and I’m still happy with what we achieved and what I achieved.”
