Consar Ravenna’s attack is taking shape for the upcoming season. The Ravenna-based club has also signed Marco Pierotti, a spiker from Fano, who turns 30 tomorrow. Pierotti has a long history in Serie A2 with Potenza Picena, Bergamo, where he played for four non-consecutive seasons, Porto Viro, Siena, and Taranto, his last team. His career also included two SuperLega championships in Modena, where he won the Italian Super Cup, and Vibo Valentia. He also won an Italian Cup and two Serie A2 Super Cups, all with Bergamo, a gold medal at the Mediterranean Games, and a gold medal at the Universiade.
“I’m very excited to finally be able to play for Ravenna,” Pierotti said, “after always playing against them as an opponent. This club’s history speaks for itself, and the A2 championships it’s won since it entered this division are clear evidence of a club accustomed to playing at a high level and competing for the top spot. It’s supported by a club that everyone tells me is serious and organized, and by a passionate atmosphere with a great volleyball culture. When I got the call, I was over the moon: at this stage of my career, I was looking for an environment of this caliber.”
