At the Atatürk Volleybol Salonu in Izmir, Allianz Milano also won the second leg of the Challenge semifinal. After a 3-0 first-leg lead, coach Piazza’s team won the first two sets of the final in a thrilling showdown, then closed the match 3-1 with a strong presence of young and very young players from the bench. This was a significant victory for Powervolley’s history, achieved on a special day, which began with the sad news of the untimely passing of Filippo Rutigliano, the team’s assistant for home matches and avid volleyball enthusiast.
