The “Crush Laziness” school project, promoted by Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza, has concluded with significant results and a strong impact on the local community. Its goal is to spread the values of sport, volleyball, and an active lifestyle among young people.

During the 2025-2026 school year, the initiative reached a total of 17 schools in Piacenza and its province, as well as Parma and its province, involving 2,200 students in promotional activities and hands-on activities. The initiative spanned 32 days, including 9 school visits and 23 lessons in school gyms. The latter were led by Francesco Caminiti, coach of the Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza youth sector, who guided the students through volleyball on the court.

Nine schools were visited directly, with meetings facilitated by Vittorino Francani, project coordinator for the red and white club, alongside coaches and players from the youth sector, Sitting Volleyball players, and some athletes from the Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza first team. This mix of experiences allowed students to explore the value of sport from every angle, including inclusion, commitment, and team spirit.

The journey began last September and concluded in May, with stops at the Marcora Raineri Agricultural and Hotel Management Institute in Piacenza, the Pezzani Elementary School in Piacenza, the Bertolucci Comprehensive Institute in Parma, the Carducci-Dante Middle School in Piacenza, the S. Agostino Institute in Salsomaggiore, the Perino Middle School, the Gossolengo Middle School, the Rivergaro Middle School, and finally the Pontenure Middle School.

Many topics were covered during the various meetings, and many questions were posed to the various players by the students and teachers who participated, allowing them to discuss and compare their experiences with the athletes on duty.

Sport is a powerful educational tool

Sport can do what families and schools sometimes cannot. Sport, and more specifically, team sport, prepares children for their future lives. It empowers, educates, and develops young people’s self-esteem and freedom of action. It stimulates collaboration and shared initiative, which are the foundations of community. It increases self-confidence and courage, develops social skills, and helps them think.
