Cuneo Volley has officially announced the rumors that have been circulating in the Italian volleyball world’s news and social media: Italian-Cuban setter Bryan Argilagos will be the director of the white-and-blue SuperLega. This important move will see the young Italian talent wear the Cuneo jersey until 2028, with great confidence from the Cuneo club.

The playmaker, after a successful SuperLega debut this past season in Perugia, where he had the opportunity to train and work alongside Giannelli and his teammates, experience all the major club competitions, and collect important medals and trophies, as he has done for the past five years, has long since embarked on his summer with the Azzurri, first with Fanizza’s Under-22 team, which is preparing for the Under-22 European Championships to be held in Albufeira, Portugal, between late June and early July. He was subsequently called up to the second group of the senior national team in Cavalese, where he has been participating in training camp for a week now alongside Lorenzo Sala, another Biancoblù player. Already a European U17 Champion in 2023 and European U19 Runner-up in 2024, the 2007-born athlete has all the credentials to play a leading role in the SuperLega.

Sporting Director Paolo Brugiafreddo enthusiastically introduced Argilagos’ arrival in Cuneo: “We are very proud of this move. We have great faith in Bryan, in his technical, athletic, and moral qualities. He has a great future ahead of him, and we hope to be the starting point for a wonderful career. We can’t wait to see him in action.”

“I feel I have a responsibility, but above all, I’m very happy with the trust the Club has placed in me. Betting on a 19-year-old is no easy feat. I hope to live up to expectations. I will definitely give my all in every match and every practice session.” These were Bryan Argilagos’ first words in the blue and whites, gathered before he left for the Italian training camp in Val di Fiemme on June 3rd.

Making your SuperLega debut in the season of “Perugia champions of all”, not a bad experience, what did it give you and what will you definitely take with you for the future?: « I think all young guys like me dream of making a SuperLega debut by winning 4 trophies, I am very grateful to Perugia for having placed their trust in me, it was an incredible experience, training daily with world-class players and staff helped me gain some experience and certainly improved me technically and mentally.
