Here we are where we were just a year ago: with Trentino and Piacenza to face each other for the league title. The series, which will be played on the best of five games, is expected to be a thrilling one, full of emotions.
On route to their second consecutive final, the holders spent as little time on court as possible: not even a defeat to be seen in the quarters and semis, just six wins in six games for Grbic and co.
Piacenza’s road on route to their third final in a row had a little bit more twists and turns: Following their sweep in the quarter finals, it had to play five extremely tight encounters in the semi-final against Macerata, who only surrendered in the tie-break yesterday.
This exciting end of season resumes on Monday 4 may with the first game of the final in the PalaTrento. Just like a year ago.

Playoff run: Trentino swept Vibo Valentia in the quarters and did the same to Cuneo in the semi finals. Piacenza registered a 3-0 win over Perugia in the quarters while it needed the fifth game to get rid of Macerata 3-2.
In the final: This is Trento’s second participation following last season’s, while it will be Piacenza’s fourth final, its third in a row. It was beaten by Treviso in 2004 and 2007, and by Trento last season.
