RPA-LuigiBacchi.it Perugia – Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 10 (7-3 Perugia).

Marco Neviani (RPA-LuigiBacchi.it Perugia): “Vibo Valentia only met top teams until now, doing exceptionally well. Outside hitter Marquez, who came to substitute Simeonov injured, turned out to be a excellent player. We have to approach the game as well as possible, which means not the way we did against Treviso and Verona. We have to play without fear. We have what it takes to do well. We have to be modest, starting with doing well the simple things”.

Michele Ferraro (Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia): “We are facing another very tough game against a Perugia team which, in my opinion, is not playing to its full potential. They have one of the most interesting squad of the league. They will be extremely motivated, given the unexpected defeat at home against Verona. They will do everything possible to take all three points to get back up the table. I’m just asking my players to do as much as they can because until the end of October it will be very difficult”.

Itas Diatec Trentino – Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 28 (16-12 Cuneo).

Matey Kaziyski (Itas Diatec Trentino): “Against Cuneo we will face many ex-teammates who contributed to Trento’s recent success. It will therefore not be a similar game to the ones we played in the first few rounds. On the contrary, the emotional factor will surely have an influence. For me, as new captain, it will be very strange to make the official shake of hands with Nikola Grbic but it will be a nice moment, I’ve learned a lot from him in the last few years. The game will also be a good one to play because there will be three important points at stake with the league and Italian cup in mind. We still have great margin for improvement and we can’t already be satisfied just because we beat two top teams like Piacenza and Macerata”.

Alberto Giuliani (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “Our next opponent is Trento, a great team. We will have to keep our competitive spirit high constantly, not only in this game but in all the others that will follow, even if it is difficult to play that many games in so many few days. It’s tough but we are training for this situation, which we will have to face again in the playoffs”.

CoprAtlantide Piacenza – Lube Banca Marche Macerata

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 21 (12-9 Piacenza).

Angelo Lorenzetti (CoprAtlantide Piacenza): “The Vibo victory was important for our league position, it was important to take points not to get into mentally dangerous situations. The true problem was the calendar and play so many tough games one after another: losing against Cuneo and Trento are things  that can happen. Macerata have the same problem. They play a splendid volleyball, they manage to be effective in the most complicated attacks, which we struggle to do”.

Matteo Martino (Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “It is evident that the Macerata team seen in the last two games was awful, but these kind of moments can happen during a season and it has to be resolved with calm, without making it a big deal, and with the knowledge that our potential is a lot different to what has been expressed against Treviso and Trento. It will be another very tough encounter in Piacenza, a win would morally do us a lot of good, this is undeniable. The first thing to do is play our game, in order to start improving again until and be able to compete when the games that really matter come. If you play well, the results will come”.

Trenkwalder Modena – Acqua Paradiso Monza

PAST ENCOUNTERS: None

Cristian Casòli (Trenkwalder Modena): “It will be a crucial game: we want to win to stay on top, while they are in good form having won the last two games. I think this will be an interesting encounter from many point of views: Monza has players with great technique, btu we are improving day after day. We are extremely focused, we know we’ll be facing a series of tough games against the best teams of the championship. We will be home in front of our fans and want to repeat the good performances of late. We said it a lot: the Monza game will be very difficult, but we want to give our best to keep winning”.

Mauro Berruto (Acqua Paradiso Monza): “We are very satisfied with our beginning of championship, but we do know our game can still improve, technically and tactically. It will be a tough game on Sunday, against a strong team with thousands of alternatives. They managed to play well right from the start. Still, our targets must not change at all: we must play to get points, always, on any court and against any team. It will be particular for me to play against Esko, We have been working together for five years and we played hundreds of games together. I feel a strong bond with him, It will be unusual for me”.

Marmi Lanza Verona – Sisley Treviso

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 17 (12-5 Treviso).

Bruno Bagnoli (Marmi Lanza Verona): “We had a great game in Perugia taking three important points. It will be fundamental to keep going this way against Treviso and play well. We will face a strong team with a great setter. Our amazing supporters will help us to offer a great show”.

Alessandro Farina (Sisley Treviso): “Our winning streak was interrupted in Cuneo but we are fine. We know our worth and the margin of improvement we have. We are focused on what’s coming, we need the right motivation to face Verona and get a result: The dig will be crucial to limit a team that knows how to put great pressure on the opponent. The secret to have a good game in a hot atmosphere is continuity”.

Andreoli Latina – Aran Cucine Abruzzo Pineto

PAST ENCOUNTERS: none

Giombini (Andreoli Latina): “Another delicate game is awaiting us against Pineto, and an important one to win. We proved our worth against Forli, now we have to perform again the same way. We’ll be in front of our fans, to whom I ask to support us as they have always done”.

Andrea Armeti (Aran Cucine Abruzzo Pineto): “I played in Latina a few years ago, we reached the playoffs: the atmosphere is great, I really felt at ease there. On Sunday, we’ll go there determined to get up the table, even though we know it won’t be easy. The atmosphere is always electric there, the fans are an integrant part, they don’t cease to encourage their team. We are improving, we proved it against Taranto on Wednesday and we’ll do the maximum to get our first points of the season”.

Esse-ti Carilo Loreto – Yoga Forlì

PRECEDENTI: 14 (8-6 Forli)

Marco Visentin (Esse-ti Carilo Loreto): “Crucial game, fundamental for us, we have to win it. Forli is a team of our level, which we have to face with the right motivation and determination. We’ll have the crowd on our part, which will help us to play a good game. We have played two away games in a row, being too inconsistent. This game at the PalaSerenelli can be a good opportunity to bounce back and try to add points to our tally. We know we have a great potential, and a lot of character which we’ll try to show in this delicate moment of the season”.

Sergiu Stancu (Yoga Forlì): “We got it all wrong against Latina. We have to forget immediately this game. After the match, we had a chat, we understood what went wrong and we started to work on specific aspects. We’re going to Loreto to get a result, convinced Wednesday’s episode was just a one-off”.
