Just over an hour was enough for Cuneo to get rid of Teruel, from Spain, and go through to the Cev Cup Final Four, which will take place on the 27 and 28 March in a venue still to be chosen. Cuneo had already won the first leg 3-2 and will now face Piacenza in an Italian derby in the semi final. The other semi-final will be Maaseik (Belgium) versus Odintsovo (Russia).

Alberto Giuliani: “In the first leg, we had to face a long trip and we faced a team really up for it, pushed by a great crowd. They tried to play on their main strengths tonight but we did well to keep them under pressure. I am satisfied with the run of my team, which reached its second target of the season. I am also happy with the way the boys are working”.

Giuseppe Patriarca (Mvp della gara): “I am happy to go through, we will meet another Italian team, Piacenza, which I believe is the strongest team of this Final Four”.

There was also Julio Velasco, the Spanish National Team coach: “Cuneo was strong, they stayed focused and did not underestimated the opponent, that’s what I expected. I wanted to see the Spaniards play under pressure against a great team, some of them are playing with the national team I coach”.
