MARMI LANZA VERONA – ACQUA PARADISO MONZA 1-3 (18-25, 25-16, 25-27, 20-25) –

MARMI LANZA VERONA: Groppi, Latelli, Sottile 2, Della Lunga 8, Lasko 20, Kovar, Curti, Holt 6, Colaci (L), Kromm 16, Howard 11. DNP Peslac, Galabinov. Coach. Bagnoli.

Monza offered a strong performance to beat a Verona team that was unable to repeat the good things done in all of this second part of championship. The 15 blocks were not enough for Bagnoli’s team, which conceded 9 blocks and 7 aces. Led by its MVP, Travica, Monza extended its lead in the table. Gavotto and Lasko were top scorers with 20. Berruto’s team made the double over Verona this season.

Massimo Colaci (Marmi Lanza Verona): “We played well only in flashes, we definitely not played as well as in recent games. We made avoidable mistakes and in such a tight game it cost dearly”.

Mauro Gavotto (Acqua Paradiso Monza): “We knew it was going to be a tough game, both Verona and us have been in good form but I think today we played one of our best away game this season. We managed to stick together in the tough times and make up for our flaws, by blocking and playing great dig. The team had an excellent attitude and this is an important aspect”.

ITAS DIATEC TRENTINO – YOGA FORLì 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-18) – ITAS DIATEC TRENTINO: Kaziyski 17, Gallosti (L), Birarelli 8, Portuondo Juantorena 12, Zygadlo 7, Sala 2, Corsini 7, Garcia Pires Ribeiro, Herpe 5, Bari (L). DNP Vieira De Oliveira, Vissotto Neves, Sokolov. Coach. Stoytchev.

YOGA FORLì: Mengozzi, Coscione, Carrol 10, Popp 6, Stancu 4, Ainsworth, De Pandis (L), Casadei 1, Loglisci 3, Maric 6, Bacci, Gotch 3. DNP Bianchi. Coach. Molducci

Forli could do very little against Trento, which remains the only team unbeaten at home. Three points that came easy for Trento, which extends its lead to 9 points at the top of the table, although Cuneo will play away against Pineto tomorrow. Stoytchev could even rest a couple of players ahead of its Champions League on Tuesday. One of the sub, Zygadlo, was named MVP, while Kaziyski finished top scorer with 17 points.

Matey Kaziyski (Itas Diatec Trentino): “These are three important points even if it was easier than we thought it would be. We took the opportunity to make a couple of changes, like putting me as an outside hitter. It worked even if my natural position is spiker. Let’s focus on the Champions League now”.

Manuel Coscione (Yoga Forlì): “We knew it was going to be hard but we did not expect to play that badly. We have to focus immediately on the next three games which will be worth the whole season for us”.
