Great atmosphere in the Pala Verde and the hosts fed off it to win 3-1 in game 3 against Monza. Treviso goes 2-1 up as game 4 is scheduled on Sunday in Monza. Horstink (MVP), Bontje, Fei and De Togni all performed brilliantly, as the latter was key in the fourth set to contain Monza’s comeback.

Roberto Piazza (Sisley Volley): “Tonight, we’ve seen again two teams that can play volleyball and that are about the same level. This time, we’ve had more patience than Monza, we fought on every ball right until the end. We did rather well, although we got nervous at times and made a few mistakes, but in the playoffs this kind of situations can happen. We had a good attitude, we need some of the same in game 4 in Monza on Sunday. The most important thing is to rest on Tuesday to be physically and mentally fine again, then we’ll prepare the next stage, which could be the last one for Monza, which will consequently bring a different intensity to the game”.  

Mauro Berruto (Acqua Paradiso Monza): “We made mistakes and that cost us the first two sets. We also had a few physical worries amongst the middleblockers and indeed, we haven’t performed well at the net, apart from the third set in which the team found its rhythm. We lost our focus in the fourth and stopped to play as a team. We’ll have to forget about it. We must focus on game 4 now, with the will and conviction to be close to Treviso and to be able to go back again to Treviso to play for the qualification in game 5”.

COPRATLANTIDE PIACENZA – BRE BANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO 1-3 (24-26, 30-28, 24-26, 23-25) –

Cuneo had the better of Piacenza in four sets. The hosts gave their maximum and imposed their game but they failed to convert in the crunch time. In the first set, they were pegged back after building a conspicuous lead, losing a set that seemed already won. Cuneo stayed focused and, led by an excellent Prandi (MVP), especially on the serve, it got back home with the win”.

Simone Parodi (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “The coach told me to hit it hard and it went well. Not only am I happy with my performance but also with the one of the whole team. We are playing good volleyball, we never slowed down and we managed to come out on top even in moments of difficulty. We knew we were facing a super team, which forced the serve and made many mistakes in Cuneo, but they made it really difficult for us here on their home court. It’s all up to us now, the series is in our grasp”.

Marco Meoni (CoprAtlantide Piacenza): “Our opponent have played better in the clutch time. We did well to create our opportunities. Sport is made of last chances and Thursday’s game will be one to fight right until the end”.
