Matteo Burgsthaler is now a Padova player. Born in 1981, Matteo began his career in the Serie A1 with Trento in 2000 and in the last two seasons he played for Cavriago in the A2. Not only one of the best middleblockers last season but he also finished top of the blocking chart with 125 points scored. Overall, he tallied 270 points in 31 games, with an average of 9 points per game.

“I chose Padova for various reasons –said Matteo – First of all, sport director Santuz and Montagnani were the first to look for me. They had already contacted me after the playoffs to let me know about their interest in me. Besides, Padova is a great volleyball club with fantastic supporters and I think they deserve to be one division above this A2”.
