A tough semi-final is looming ahead against Santa Croce, as Città di Castello will have to make do without its Slovakian star spiker Martin Nemec, who will undergo surgery for an injury on a finger. A very bad news for Radici’s team given that Nemec is one of the best spikers of the league, testimony his 32 points last Wednesday against Loreto. Still, the team has proved several times during the season it was capable of making up for important absences.
“Playing against a team that won the A2 cup and starting the series 1-0 down (due to regulations) makes it quite a difficult task but we hope to even the series” explained team manager Valdemaro Gustinelli.
