A true league game was expected and so it was. An almost sold-out crowd cheered on as Piacenza and Trentino gave it a great fight and a great show that kept the suspense right until the end of five sets. Trento eventually snatched it but Piacenza proved they could definitely threatens anyone, even the World Champions.
“Even today, we managed to give every player a go on the court – said coach Monti – This was an extremely important test. We started off tense which is totally normal against a top level team like Trento. There are extremely high expectations and this sticks in the back of our minds. Tonight we blocked fine and had a good reception”.
