2013 CEV Cup

All of Latina’s hopes and history in one game. On Sunday, the club will be in Ankara to play for the trophy. Not easy, the Turkish have won the first leg in a packed arena in Italy 3-1. Now Latina has to win the return leg to earn the right to play the golden set to 15.

Daniele Sottile (Andreoli Latina): “We’re going there to win it. Sunday’s game is the decisive one, it won’t be easy but we’ll try. In the first leg, our opponents have done well on the serve, while we have to improve in various situations. Now we have the chance to study the first game and find solutions. We all know the formula now, both teams have to win the second leg, for us that means having a chance to win it all at the Golden Set”.

Silvano Prandi (coach Andreoli Latina): “We have to forget about the first leg, the clutch game is this return leg. We have already played in Ankara and we know what we’ll find there. We have to handle the pressure and the importance of the event, then we’ll see what happens on court”.

One more win and Piacenza will be in the Challenge Cup final. 3-0 winners at home in the first leg, the Italians are traveling to the Czech Republic to meet Liberec. Zlatanov and co had an easy ride in Piacenza but they can’t lower their guards as they need the double to qualify for the final. Whoever qualifies will take on the winner of Ural Ufa (Russia) versus Delecta Bydgoszcz (Poland). The Russians won the first leg 3-1.
