Padova took the first set but then surrendered against Verona. The two teams had already met twice and on each occasion Padova had come out on top but this time, with the arrival of the internationals, Verona took revenge.

“We faced a good A1 team a week before the start of the championship – said coach Baldovin – I think they have some of the best spikers in the league and they proved that against us. I am satisfied despite the loss. We won the first set and hanged in there during the whole game. This is encouraging. We did well in dig while we’ll have to improve at the net”.
