Siena played a prestigious friendly game against Perugia. The first set was played under specific rules before resuming usual regulations from the second set. The hosts won it 15-12, Perugia tied it 25-18, then Giannini’s men stepped up a gear to take the third 25-23 and in the last one Perugia dominated 25-16. Overall it’s been an excellent test for the Siena players who are starting to gain confidence.

“We made some progress compared to the last game against Spoleto – said coach Giannini – We know what we have to work on and that’s normal, we have a totally renovated team and only the daily work playing together can bring us forward. I have seen excellent things in the third set, which we deservedly won. We need patience, we need to be ready to sacrifice, we’ll become more of a team with time, we definitely have a positive basis to build on”.
