Trentino’s first team has been regularly welcoming players who came up in the club youth department. The tradition goes on this season with libero Matteo Chiappa, who went through the Trentino ranks before having an excellent season 2015-16 in the B1 division with Bolzano.
“I am so motivated and happy to be able to wear the first team shirt – said Chiappa – This is a dream come true for me. Except for last season, I’ve always worn the Trentino shirt, it’s been almost 12 years and in my heart I’ve always hoped than sooner or later I could make it into the SuperLega team. I’ll play as libero, a position I started to cover after years as spiker, I love it and in Bolzano I did pretty well”.
