The dream is back on for Sora. In its PalaGlobo Polsinelli, Colucci’s men tied the final series to 2-2 thanks to a 3-1 victory over Vibo Valentia in spite of being one set down. That’s a second chance wasted for Vibo, who had Maccarone taking the place of Forni, who gave in during the warm up. Sora was guided for the second consecutive time by assistant coach Maurizio Colucci as Fabio Soli flew to Japan with Italy’s women national team. Led by the offensive prowess of Michalovic, there was a promising start from the visitors while the hosts were struggling to serve effectively. Rosso was the main man in the second set as Sora got on track and he kept at it in the third set in which Sora totally outclassed its opponent. The cup winners were just not their own selves in attack and in the blocking. They could not find a way back in it as Rosso kept firing from all angles in the fourth (27 points, 67% in attack). All down to Sunday’s last battle.
