Mondiale per Club 2016
Good start for Trento

The World Club Championships kicked off on Tuesday in Betim, Brazil. Trentino started off brightly with a 3-0 win over the hosts of Minas Tenis Clube. An important first step towards the semi-finals, to be played on Saturday 22. But before that, there are two games left against Argentinian teams. Trento’s serve was sharp in the opening encounter. Stokr, Urnaut, top scorer Lanza and Van De Voorde (picked instead of Mazzone in the starting line-up) put pressure on the Minas respectively with serve, attack and blocks. Next is a match on Thursday night against Bolivar, 3-1 winner in their first game against UPCN.

Angelo Lorenzetti (coach Diatec Trentino): “We knew we could find it a little hard to express our best volleyball here, especially in the first game after the five sets played in Padova, the trip and the fact we could not train much in the last few days. And indeed in the first and third set we were not that brilliant, but the important thing was to get a victory that gives us confidence ahead of the coming games and that keeps us in the run for the semi-finals. I think this 3-0 against Minas is an important result that sets us in good spirit ».
