Mondovì strengthened its squad with the addition of outside hitter Matteo Paoletti. The 34-year-old signed a one-year contract with an option for another one. He came up in Loreto where he began his pro career and helped the team be promoted in the A2. Then he spent five years in the B1 division before going back to Loreto. Massa (B1), Genova (B1), Santa Croce (A2), Reggio Emilia (A2), Castellana Grotte (A2), Brescia (A2) and Ortona (A2) were his other stops.
“It will be a bit like being home with the family – he said as he will be back with Davide Manassero and Michele Parusso – I have had various seasons with them. With David, we have been three years in Genova, we did very well and really bonded. This was an extra motivation for me but my decision came mainly from the excellent impression I had from the club. This is a serious club that gave me the will to get better. I have immediately been interested by their project”.
